Haussner's - New German-style Microbrewery?

Moveable Feast has moved around a lot. Thankfully, in 2009, we came to be housed in our permanent location - 901 N. Milton Avenue, the site of the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Community Center. Newly renovated by HEBCAC with a state-of-the-art kitchen, spacious administrative offices, ample storage space, and gracious conference rooms...our headquarters have come a long way.

Haussner's Restaurant, an iconic Baltimore eatery, closed its doors and "served its last strawberry cake" on October 6th, 1999, before becoming Moveable Feast's home in the new millennium from 2000 to 2004. We operated out of the kitchen that once churned out classic meals for Charm City.

Now, a new future may be in the works for Haussner's.

Brewer Stephen Demczuk has plans to turn the old restaurant into a German-style "guest-house" with a microbrewery and an attached deli.

The Southeast Community Development Corporation is in favor of the plans, saying they would "love to get a brewery back in Highland town."

Here at Moveable Feast, we are excited to see the thrilling options for our previous home!
