Our Garden

The Moveable Feast Garden Program was started in 2009 and had its first successful year in 2010. Moveable Feast is now embarking on the second year of the program.

We are lucky enough to tend and receive produce from three plots in Maryland:
The garden is one of the most enjoyable ways to get involved with Moveable Feast. You could grow a starter plant, work in any of our gardens, gather supplies and seeds, or fundraise for the garden program. For more information about volunteering with the Garden Program, please click here .

UPDATES

7 April 2011: Staff Garden Day at Duncan Street Miracle Garden! We cleared rocks, stones, and trash from our plots that accumulated over the fallow months.

5 April 2011: Our starter plants are making great progress. We've also planted herb seeds in small cups and lined them on the windowsill in the office.

31 March 2011: This day was originally scheduled to be the Staff Garden Day, the kick-off of the planting season! Moveable Feast staff would go to Duncan Street Miracle Garden to begin overhauling and preparing for the springtime. Due to the rainy and cold weather, our Staff Garden Day was postponed until next week.

22 March 2011: Look at how big our starter plants have grown in the office!

February 2011: Dietitians Sara, Jinee, and Betty have planted starter plants in boxes at the Moveable Feast headquarters. Varieties include: leek, onion, tomato, cabbage, and different types of peppers.
